Venus is the third brightest object in the sky, losing only to the Moon and to the Sun! It is so bright that it can even be spotted naked-eye in plain daylight -- if you know where to look. Venus becomes particularly bright and obvious at sunset or sunrise and is often called the morning "star", or the evening star.

I took these pictures with my son from his bedroom window after sunset.

This one was taken the next night. The Moon and Venus were just 4 degrees apart. See how thicker the Moon's crescent became and how much it  moved in just 24 hours.
